The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast - May

Every year some 500 citizens & dignitaries attend Flowood’s Annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast to give thanks for the blessings we enjoy as Americans, and residents of the Great City of Flowood.  Last year's Breakfast was held on Friday May 8th at the Ivy Venue on Luckney Road.

The annual breakfast has grown to be a “must attend” event for Mississippi political and social leaders, and is another of the City of Flowood’s public events that enhance our community’s profile as a leader among Mississippi cities.

Sponsored by the Mayor's office and supported by the resources of the Parks and Recreation Department, the event features an extensive breakfast buffet, an Honor Guard, and a live performance of the National Anthem.  After an invocation and brief welcome from Mayor Gary Rhoads, a notable keynote speaker delivers an inspirational message. The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is a unique event among municipalities - Flowood's leadership proudly expresses their faith at every public affair, and the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast serves as an official declaration of their commitment to the higher power that guides them.
